POLICE CHARGE TWO MEN WITH BREAK AND ENTER AFTER PURSUIT NEAR COFFS HARBOUR

Two men have faced court over a break-in on the far north coast, and a police pursuit near Coffs Harbour.

At about 8:30 on Saturday morning, police were conducting speed checks on the Pacific Highway at Glenugie when they noticed a silver Hyundai coupe that was stolen during a break-in at Tweed Heads.

A pursuit began which was soon called off for safety reasons.

Later that day, police received reports the Hyundai was at a caravan park at Arrawarra Beach.

Two men were subsequently arrested.

A 21-year-old was charged with a number of offences including aggravated break and enter, Skye’s Law and negligent driving, while a 23-year-old was charged with aggravated break and enter, and taking and driving a conveyance.
