Jumping the start in the medal race has cost Olympic sailing champions Nathan Outteridge and Iain Jensen dearly.. they were forced to settle for sixth at the 49er World Championships.
Going into the final race in the silver medal position, the pair finished in second spot, but a penalty dropped them down the rankings.
The Lake Macquarie duo was satisfied with the result, especially considering Outteridge carried a pec injury through the closing stages of the event.
