New data has revealed the New South Wales Far North Coast has one of the lowest immunisation rates in the country, with nearly a quarter of one-year-olds not vaccinated.
The National Health Performance Authority’s data analysed immunisation rates over a two-year period between 2013 and 2015.
While Australia has recorded improvements overall, the percentage of one-year-old children fully immunised in Brunswick Heads and areas surrounding it, was as low as 73 per cent.
The Sydney suburb of Harris Park also rated low at 76 per cent.
According to the data, the New South Wales Snowy Mountains has one of the highest rates at 97 per cent, while the Hunter New England and Central Coast regions were sitting at 93 per cent.
