MAN DIES IN GOLD COAST SURF
A man has died after being pulled unconscious from heavy surf on the Gold Coast.
It’s believed the man, aged in his 30s, was boogie boarding at Broadbeach this morning when he was dumped by a wave, causing serious head injuries.
Lifesavers dragged him from the water at around 8:30. Paramedics tried to revive him for more than an hour.
The Bureau of Meteorology has warned swimmers of dangerous conditions at southeast Queensland beaches heading into the weekend, with a maximum two-metre swell predicted for Thursday and Friday.
