CHALLENGE LAUNDRY SERVICE CLOSES

Challenge Community Services’ laundry business in Taminda has been forced to close its doors, leaving 26 employees without work.

The decision is due to a decline in business and an increase in competition.

21 employees are clients of the organisation who have a disability – they’ll be offered alternative work at another Challenge site, or opportunities outside the organisation.

CEO Barry Murphy says the downturn in mining across Australia has seen a drop in customers.
