The Land and Environment Court on Friday rejected the challenge by the Upper Mooki Landcare community group, which argued the risk to koala populations had been overlooked.
The Chinese-backed open-cut mine has federal and state government approval and is earmarked for the Liverpool Plains region, near Gunnedah.
