THE SKIRL OF THE HIGHLANDERS’ PIPES IN COFFS HARBOUR

The best pipers and drummers from regional New South Wales were in Coffs Harbour today, practicing for next month’s New Zealand Pipe Band Championships.

The Highlanders include a couple of Coffs Coast Pipes and Drum members among the six men and six women.

“We’ve got Moree represented, Glenn Innis, Tamworth, Armidale even Canberra, we snuck one in from there,” said the Highlanders’ Drum Major Geoff Rogers.

It will be the first time the Highlanders have competed in New Zealand.
