Three people were hospitalised following a multi-vehicle crash on the New England Highway at Whittingham, south of Singleton this morning.
Debris littered the highway after the high speed head-on collision involving a sedan and twin-cab ute.
A second utility and truck were also caught up in the crash.
A woman suffering multiple injuries was trapped for almost an hour before being flown to hospital by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
Two men were also taken to hospital – all are listed as stable.
