THREE METRE PYTHON BITES SIX YEAR OLD ON NSW NORTH COAST

A small boy in northern NSW has sustained minor injuries after a terrifying nocturnal encounter with a “big effing snake”, which slithered into the sleeping child’s room and began biting him on the face.

Tyler’s mother, Tamara Thurgood, said she was awoken by her six-year-old son’s “painful screams” after the serpent, which she estimated to be about three metres in length, silently invaded their Macksville home at around 11:30pm last Thursday.

“I jumped out of bed and went to Tyler to find a big effing snake wrapped around the bed head,” Ms Thurgood wrote on Facebook.

“I grabbed his arm to pull him off the bed but he was stuck. So I rolled him and then pulled.”

One of Ms Thurgood’s relatives was at the house within five minutes to deal with the aggressive reptile.

“I said: ‘I won’t be happy until the snake is dead!’ I’d say both boys were scared but stayed there to make sure they got the bastard that attacked my son,” Ms Thurgood wrote.

Now the family just wants to put the incident behind them and move on – not only has the media attention been tiring, it is hardly a moment Tyler or his mum want to endlessly relive.

“It was terrifying enough without being reminded every day and being asked to explain what happened,” Ms Thurgood said.

Hopefully little Tyler, bitten on the head and finger by a snake roughly three times his size, will find a way to sleep easy.
