HAMWICKS CLAIM NEWCASTLE DISTRICT TWENTY20 TITLE

Hamilton-Wickham has taken out the Newcastle District Twenty-twenty title for the first time, beating Charlestown in today’s final.

Hamwicks lost an early wicket when Mark Dries was run out.

But Sam Webber and captain Josh Trappel then took control of the innings.

They found the boundary on several occasions, as Webber scored 33 and Trappel was unbeaten on 60 not out.

Hamilton-Wickham ended their 20 overs at 7 for 137, and in reply Charlestown finished more than 40 runs short.
