GUNNEDAH RACE TRACK RATED GOOD THREE DESPITE CHALLENGES

A week of extreme heat has wreaked havoc with the Gunnedah race track, ahead of tomorrow’s Boggabri Cup.

In recent days, water has been evaporating before it can penetrate the surface.

“Unfortunately I haven’t got enough water in the track that I’d have liked to, but as I said with the irrigation we’ve got here it’s a bit hard. We’re getting there, so we’ve got a couple of plans in line in the future to upgrade the track.”

Despite the issues, the track has still been rated a good three, meaning punters can expect a fast pace.

The first race runs at 1:40pm.
