AVOCA KAYAKERS QUALIFY FOR AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL TEAM

Avoca kayakers Lachlan Tame and Riley Fitzsimmons looked headed to Rio after successfully qualifying for the Australian national team.

Tame sealed selection earlier in the week with a win in the K4 1000 metres at the National titles in Perth.

While a third for 19 year-old Fitzsimmon’s in the K2 1000 was enough push his case.

The team is expected to be ratified by the Olympic committee in the coming days.
