A vehicle has failed to stop after fatally hitting a pedestrian in Inverell overnight.
Around 10:45pm on Saturday, a 60-year-old man was walking on Cameron Street when he was struck by an older-model, white-coloured sedan.
The vehicle fled the scene after the incident.
The injured pedestrian was taken to Inverell District Hospital, but he passed away early this morning.
Police are appealing for the driver of the vehicle and any witnesses to come forward.
