TEENAGE RIDER DIES AT HORSE TRIAL EVENT IN UPPER HUNTER
A teenage girl tragically died during a horse trial event near Scone this morning.
17-year-old Olivia Inglis was competing in the cross country phase at the Scone Horse Trials at around 9:20 when the accident occurred.
It’s believed the rider was tossed when family horse Coriolanus fell during a combination jump.
The on-course doctor and paramedic attended, but she wasn’t able to be revived.
The event was subsequently cancelled and counselling services arranged for anyone in attendance.
The horse is reportedly in a stable condition.
