Dozens of people have been taken to three hospitals in the Hunter Valley, following a chemical spill at a chicken plant at Beresfield. The Steggles site, on Hawthorn Street, was evacuated just after 9 this morning after people reported breathing difficulties and nausea. 26 people have been treated. It’s believed the spill has been contained.
There’s been a shooting in Sydney’s southwest. Police are on the scene where three people are believed to have been shot at Ingleburn.
Islamic State has claimed responsibility for a blast in Baghdad – that’s killed at least 60 people, and wounded more than 70 others. A fuel tanker was blown up near a checkpoint.
And the world’s biggest aircraft is preparing to make its maiden voyage over Britain. It’s a cross between a plane a blimp and a helicopter and could soon be carrying passengers.
