65-YEAR-OLD CHARGED AFTER FATAL DORRIGO ROAD ACCIDENT IN FEBRUARY

A 65-year-old male has been charged over a fatal car crash near Dorrigo last month.

Emergency services were called to the head-on collision between a Holden Rodeo and a Mitsubishi Express at The Waterfall Way on February 26.

A 19-year-old female passenger of the Mitsubishi was airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital, but died two days later when her life support was switched off.

The female driver of the Mitsubishi, also 19, suffered minor injuries in the crash.

The male driver of the Rodeo was also treated for minor injuries, and underwent mandatory testing.

As a result of police enquiries, the 65-year-old was arrested and charged with dangerous driving causing death. He is due to appear at Local Court on Monday April 4.
