WOMAN KILLED IN HUNTER VALLEY CAR CRASH

A 49-year-old woman has died, and four children injured, in a car crash in the Hunter Valley.

Just before 6pm, the woman was driving along the Golden Highway at Sandy Hollow, when her car left the road on a right-hand bend and crashed into a fence.

The car then rolled and hit a telegraph pole.

The woman died at the scene, while her four passengers – two 15-year-old twin girls, a 12-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl – were taken to John Hunter Hospital with minor injuries.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.
