The EMSLA art award has gone to a Canberra artist Kerry JOHNS – please note the correct name. The ‘woman from the ACT’ is a professional artist of 40 years. Would you have said. ‘a man from the ACT’ of a male painter of 40 years experience? This is a disappointing piece of reporting.
