Member for Cowper Luke Hartsuyker has today spoken out about his support for a royal commission into the banking and finance sector.
Mr Hartsuyker joins a number of Nationals MPs open to the move, saying several locals in the Cowper electorate have voiced their concerns about numerous banks.
“A royal commission into the banking industry has some merit, we currently have a banking inquiry underway and I don’t think we should be ruling anything in or out until that baking inquiry is concluded.”
Malcolm Turnbull and a number of his front bench colleagues have been accused of playing down the importance of holding a royal commission.
