Moree Hospital is set to receive a $1.75-million upgrade with work scheduled to begin on Monday.
It’s one of the largest projects undertaken in the past 30 years, and includes refurbishment of the hospital’s two operating theatres.
A temporary mobile surgical unit has also been installed this week.
The work aims to meet contemporary standards for surgery and sterilisation.
It’s due to be completed in September.
