It may be the school holidays but hundreds of Newcastle school kids were hard at work today, preparing for their role in the musical Hairspray.
The touring show will feature amateur dancers aged 9 to 21.
“In each city we’re incorporating new kids so to get a new bunch of talent coming in and just getting to work with them and just sharing the positive message of acceptance and following your dreams it’s really nice”, says cast member Dan Venz.
The Newcastle show opens at the Entertainment Centre in July.
