A 12-year-old boy is tonight nursing a sore foot after he was bitten by what’s been confirmed as a Wobbegong, swimming near the wreck at Byron Bay.
The incident happened just before 1PM, with the boy able to make it to shore where he was treated by lifeguards.
“The guys did all the required first aid. It wasn’t bleeding a lot or anything like that there were just a few small marks and a slight bit of blood.”
His parents then took him to the Byron District Hospital where he was checked over, then discharged a short time later.
