The Shadow Minister for Skills paid a visit to Hamilton TAFE today to discuss education cuts with the Teachers Federation.
Prue Car says the Baird Government’s Smart and Skilled program has led to more than 4,000 job losses across the state.
“Right here at Newcastle, a quarter of the teachers and support staff sacked have come from this region,” she said.
Introduced last year, it’s part of the government’s reform of the Vocational Education and Training system – aimed at helping many advance their careers.
