NINE-MAN ROSEBUD DEFEAT VALENTINE 2-0 IN NPL

In the Hunter’s NPL competition,Weston and Broadmeadow drew nil-all, Matt Thompson salvaged a point for Maitland, while Adamstown beat Valentine two-nil.

The visiting Phoenix had the best chances in the first half, but Rosebud keeper Scott Carter was tough to beat.

His side grabbed the lead early in the second thanks to Alex Read.

Rosebud was down to 10 men when Dayne Pawlik was shown a red card.

Substitute Chris Berlin stepped in to ensure the three points stayed in Adamstown.

He wasn’t done yet – after making it two-nil, he was forced to go in goal, after Carter was sent off.

Berlin then sensationally saved the penalty.
