Gold Coast commuters face days of delays as a large sinkhole on a major road is repaired.
The sinkhole swallowed 10 metres of road yesterday morning and has forced the closure of one lane of the Gold Coast Highway into Broadbeach.
It’s believed a burst water main caused the road surface to collapse.
A Gold Coast City Council spokesperson says water supply to the region was unaffected and they plan to have the sinkhole fixed by tomorrow morning.
