Security at Tamworth Courthouse has been tightened,with the installation of x-ray screening equipment and hand held metal detectors.
The state government insists the measures are necessary to ensure the safety of staff.
More than 150 motions can go before the courthouse on any given day.
Security was also bolstered last year, with the appointment of two new Sheriff’s Officers.
