NEWCASTLE HUNTERS TURN TO TEAL FOR FUNDRAISER

The Newcastle Hunters have unveiled the special strip they’ll wear on Saturday at their annual fundraising night, when they host the Sutherland Sharks in the Waratah Basketball League.
The club is hoping to raise more than $7,000 for ovarian cancer research and the Supporters of Cancer organisation.
The league-leading women will be looking to stay undefeated, following another solid effort against the Comets on Sunday.
“Last year we had a few top scorers in the 20’s and others scoring five, this year, across the board we’re going really well together.”
Alison Ebzery has been one of Newcastle’s best this season, as she continues to work her way towards a potential call up to the WNBL’s Sydney Uni Flames.
“I did have the opportunity to train with the Flames last year, but I didn’t feel I was up to it … after this year it could be a possibility.”
