There’s been a chaotic interruption to Opposition Leader Bill Shorten’s visit to the Maitland area, with a serious car crash happening nearby a scheduled media conference.
The head-on crash took place at Testers Hollow early this afternoon, where Mr Shorten was addressing the media as part of his election campaign.
A 21-year-old woman was trapped in her car, before being taken to hospital with a head injury.
It’s believed a mother and child were in the other car, but were not injured.
