A man presumed missing from an abandoned yacht at Port Stephens has been found alive and well in Newcastle.
The 48-year-old’s boat was found adrift off Samurai Beach on Tuesday afternoon, sparking a sea and air search, and grave fears for his safety.
But today, after noticing media reports, he decided to visit Newcastle Police Station to set the record straight.
The Tasmanian man now has some explaining to do about where he’s been, and why he abandoned his boat.
