PROTESTERS STROLL THROUGH BELLINGEN

Dozens of Bellingen locals have marched their prams through the main street today in a silent procession, calling for more to be done about global warming.

The Climate Action Pram Walk started at the local markets, led by the Greens candidate for Cowper, Carol Vernon.

A grandfather of six, Kevin Turner, had photos of his grand children on his pram, signifying the importance of looking after the environment and nurturing natural wonders like the Great Barrier Reef.
“Things we put in the river, whether it be artificial fertilisers, we’ve really got to move to a cleaner, greener way of looking after our productive lands on the river courses.”

They made their way to the Cenotaph, before retracing their steps through the main street.
