STATE GOVERNMENT TO RELEASE FUNDING TO COMBAT IMPACT OF BATS
Hunter councils struggling to move on large colonies of flying foxes, are being urged to apply for funding.
The state government’s made available $1-million for mitigation works.
From next month, councils will be able to apply for grants, aimed at reducing the impacts of flying fox colonies on communities.
It follows criticism not enough is being done to help bat-infested towns like Cessnock and Raymond Terrace.
