WINDSOR CO- CHAIRS AGED CARE FORUMS

Independent candidate Tony Windsor is co-chairing a series of aged care forums around the region today talking about industry issues in Tamworth.

It’s part of an Australia-wide study on the aged pension by former National Seniors Organisation Chair, Everald Compton.

“The United Nations says that 50 per cent of the pensioner population of Australia live at or near the poverty line and that’s disgraceful.”

Mr Windsor believes the delivery of aged care services needs to be reviewed.

“There’s enormous opportunity to actually keep some of those people in their homes using modern technology to monitor their body health, the hot and cold utensils.”
