DRIVER CHARGED AFTER ALLEGEDLY POSTING MORE THAN DOUBLE THE SPEEDLIMIT
A driver has been charged after allegedly clocking speeds of 120km/h in a 50 zone near Lake Macquarie yesterday.
Police stopped the car on Elizabeth Bay Drive around 2:25am on Friday and the 24-year-old driver was arrested.
During the arrest, police also discovered the driver had two outstanding arrest warrants.
He will appear in court on July 25.
Police are urging drivers to take care on the road during Operation Stay Alert this long weekend, after two road fatalities in New South Wales.
