LYNE CANDIDATES TAKE STAGE FOR FIRST Q&A

A series of ‘Meet the Candidates’ forums for the seat of Lyne, has kicked off in Taree today.
Four of the six candidates took to the stage to address both business and community members about the region’s growing unemployment rate, which currently sits at four percent above the national average.
“Something has to be addressed in this area and the local candidates need to be right on the song with what they’re going to do to raise jobs to help the local economy,” said Jeremy Thornton from the Manning Valley Business Chamber.
Incumbent member, the National’s David Gillespie, Greens candidate Julie Lyford, Country Labor’s Peter Alley and Independent Brad Christiansen were all present.
