Newcastle will be without Olympic hopeful Katie Rae Ebzery for Saturday’s Waratah league clash with Hornsby.
The 26-year-old has just completed a two week tour of Europe with the Opals, as she continues to push for a place in Rio.
The league-leading Hunters say they can still win without her.
“We have a really strong group this year so when one girl isn’t playing well another girl will step up.”
Newcastle’s women are coming off a three-week break and are keen to maintain their unbeaten run.
“We’ve had a great start to the year being 10 and 0 but we can’t rest … the end goal is to get to the championship.”
They tip off at five, with the men to face the Spiders at seven.
