Port Stephens police are still hunting for a man who shot and killed a 21-year-old man during a brawl at Raymond Terrace around midnight on Tuesday.
Josh Maynard was driven to a local ambulance station by friends suffering a gunshot wound, following a brawl between several males on Link Drive.
He was then taken to John Hunter Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
A special police strikeforcee has been set up to investigate the killing

I went to school with Josh. This is a toal shock. I haven’t seen him in a few years but it saddens me. He has two beautiful children.
it is very sad of the loss of such a young man my thoughts are with his family but in such a quiet street in raymond terrace it is a worry due to that i have 3 children as we live in the street were it happen’d even though i didnt personally know josh it is still a sad lost expecially for his 2 young children

this is weird because apparently there is a photo of josh maynard who is apparently still alive and on facebook either someone is doing a sick joke or something but someone is leavin comments saying he is still alive please someone needs to figure out who the hell it is that got shot before more people get upset
i feel for his family and girlfriend wiht his 2 beautiful children who need all the love and support from people who truley care. i never met him but know he has so many people who love and care for him, and who ever i playing the sick joke by saying he is still alive is only hurting the family and friends deeply hurt by the tragic loss.. have a heart! so many people are greiving and dont need to hear that he is still alive dont give them false hope.. R.I.P josh you shall watch over your family for eternity and keep them save from harm…
About 7 years ago josh an his family lived with my family for about a year. I dont remember why but we lost contact with them an it saddens me to hear about him dying, i want to tell give his family my condolance, rest in peace.
Josh went to school with two of my kids. Up until a couple of years ago we lived up the road from Links Drive. What a terrible tragedy and waste of life. To Josh’s family, our sincere condolences. To Josh, We hope you are at peace mate.
we have here on the tilligerry peninsula a josh maynard – we thought it was him & its him telling his friends that he is still alive. he means no malice or hurt to joshua dillon maynards family & friends. its the saddest thing what a beautiful looking young man to be taken out so wrongly. i hope they find who did this & they get the full brunt of the law thrown at them. NO REVENGE ATTACKS THAT ONLY HURTS MORE & MAKES PEOPLE MONEY. LET POLICE DO THEIR JOB.
