Football Far North Coast heavyweights, Goonellabah have narrowly gone down to Casino in round 10 of the Premier League.
Facing an under-strength Hornets outfit at home ground Queen Elizabeth Park – the Cobras won the match 3-2.
Zac Inness lead the scoring for the home side with two goals, while Dean Casey also found the back of the net.
“Couple of good solid fighters up the front and Cameron Yates, our goalkeeper had an exceptional game.”
“We had six regulars out, however, we still put a strong team out there and we had enough chances in that first half to win two games.”
Although disappointed, Goonellabah says the match allowed them to rest several key players.
They currently lead the competition, in front of the Richmond Rovers and Byron Bay.
