A very different whale appeared at Port Stephens today, with more than a thousand people coming together to form the outline of a humpback.
The “human whale” was formed on Shoal Bay Beach, to raise awareness of conservation.
It also served to highlight the importance of the whale watching industry – as 20,000 of the mammals head north on their annual migration.
