UNDER 14’S, 16’S, WINNERS AT TIMBERJACKS
Home-grown heavy hitters have taken out two age groups, at this year’s Timberjacks Friendship Tournament.
20 teams, including an under 20’s side from New Caledonia, played in the event at Lismore’s Albert Park baseball complex over the weekend.
“Language barrier is a bit of a problem at times with the umpires, because they speak a bit of French, but other then that there’s been no problem.”
“It’s shaping up to be one of the best carnivals we’ve had for quite a while.”
Far North Coast’s under 14’s side finished the tournament undefeated – beating grand final opponents West Wolves 16 runs to 6.
Far North Coast’s under 16’s then drew with Brisbane Metro – when fading light cut short their grand final.
Local Clare Evans was named the tournament’s most valuable player.
