A Newcastle public art group has slammed a decision to paint over a large mural in Newcastle West.
The large black and white mural on Stewart Avenue was painted over black in recent days.
According to the Newcastle Art Station group, the artist who created the work is in demand around the world and is a Sulman Prize finalist this year.

They probably painted a lovely white fresh wall for the graffiti crap that covers other parts of our city instead of something lovely to look at. Politicians & those people that call themselves councillor, don’t know when they get good art. Just look at the egg out the front of the Newcastle Art Gallery.
