A critical incident investigation has been launched after a 30-year-old man fell from an elevated driveway at Newcastle’s Mater Hospital overnight.
The man was escorted by police to the hospital at about 11.30 for medical assistance.
It’s then alleged the man ran through an open security door and jumped over a railing onto concrete.
He sustained serious head and internal injuries.
The critical investigation will also be subject to an independent review.
