Police are keen to speak with a man who called in an incident last week, as part of an ongoing investigation into a death in custody in the Hunter.
The anonymous caller notified police of a 36-year-old woman walking along Wollombi Road at Cessnock in a drunk manner.
The woman was then taken into custody at Maitland Police Station, where she was found dead in the morning.
A critical incident team is investigating circumstances around the incident, with the report to be independently reviewed.
