FORMER TENNIS COACH CHARGED WITH HISTORICAL SEXUAL ASSAULT OFFENCES

A former tennis coach has been charged with sexually assaulting a seven-year-old boy, 40 years ago.

The 69-year-old was arrested near his Newcastle home this morning.

Police allege the offences took place in Port Macquarie, back in 1976.

The man was granted conditional bail and is due before Port Macquarie Local Court in September.
