- Big news in the NRL this morning with Jarrod Hayne signing with the Gold Coast Titans. He’s signed a two year deal with the club – believed to be worth one-point-two million dollars a season. The former Parramatta fullback will return to the NRL THIS weekend against the Warriors.
- A woman’s been injured in a frightening home invasion in Sydney overnight. Two men – one armed with a gun – stormed the home in Auburn – demanding cash from the the 59-year-old, before hitting her in the face with the gun. Both then fled in a car, driven by a third man. The victim, was taken to hospital for treatment.
- Day two of the Royal Commission into alleged child abuse within the Anglican Diocese in Newcastle has begun with Former Bishop, Alfred Holland giving evidence this morning. He’s been questioned about his knowledge of priests Peter Rushton and youth worker Jim Brown – who abused boys at St Alban’s Church in the Hunter Valley.
- Dozens of people were left stranded after heavy snow fell at Jenolan Caves – west of the Blue Mountains. Up to 80 people and 14 vehicles – including 7 buses had to be rescued by the SES this morning.
- The Central Coast Mariners have suffered a shock loss in their FFA Cup clash against state league side Green Gully – going down two-one.
- And a 62-year-old Tasmanian woman has defied medical odds – becoming Australia’s oldest first time mother. She gave birth to a daughter in a Melbourne hospital yesterday thanks to IVF.
