New concept images have been released for a controversial expansion of Cessnock jail.
The ‘rapid-build’ design features four wings, each capable of housing 100 inmates in ‘pod’ style accommodation.
Corrective Services says inmates will be monitored from raised walkways, and via infra-red cameras.
The jail’s expansion has prompted outcry from residents, with a rally to be held at Cessnock Leagues Club tomorrow.
