WESTS EDGE OUT GOANNAS IN NEWCASTLE RUGBY LEAGUE

Just one game today in Newcastle Rugby League, with Wests surviving a scare against Cessnock.

The Goannas scored first through Sam Apthorpe.

Simon Williams went close for the Rosellas, but passed to the opposition.

Wests began to warm up after the break, but were denied a try down the left.

The Rosellas eventually scraped home 12-8.
