LABOR CALLS FOR INQUIRY INTO DEATH IN CUSTODY
Police are facing questions over their handling of the arrest of an Aboriginal woman who died in custody in the Hunter Valley.
Labor wants a separate investigation into the death of a 36-year-old Rebecca Maher, saying police failed to follow protocol when she was taken into custody last month.
Ms Maher was found dead in her cell at Maitland police station at around 6am on July 19, less than six hours after her arrest.
We’ll bring you the full story, tonight at 6.
