STREET COUNT PLANNED ON COAST
It’s one of the biggest problems facing the Central Coast, but the true extent of homelessness across the region is still not known.
That’s caused Coast Shelter to launch a study into the issue, hoping the results will help secure additional financial support for those most in need.
“talking to the Government and talking to treasury we need to actually have the facts and figures so they actually know the problem and then that gives them a chance to address it,” Coast Shelter’s Laurie Maher said.
A street count along with information from Housing New South Wales will form the basis of the investigation.
Central Coast Council has also agreed to lend assistance.
