EMERGENCY SERVICES FREE CYCLIST FROM UNDER BUS
A male cyclist has been taken to hospital with several injuries, after he collided with a bus at Lake Macquarie this morning.
Emergency services were called to The Boulevard at Toronto just before 10am.
The cyclist – believed to be aged in his 60s – was trapped for around 20-minutes, before being freed by Fire and Rescue NSW personnel.
Paramedics treated the man for pain to his shoulder and lower back. It’s also believed he suffered a pelvic injury and a cut to his leg.
He was taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatement.
Meanwhile 18 passengers were evacuated from a bus along the M1 at Somersby, after it caught fire this morning.
Southbound lanes remain closed, with diversions in place via Ourimbah.
