In Newcastle Netball, Souths are chasing their third straight title.
The Lions – undefeated in 2016 – are preparing to face Forsythes in the decider for the third year in a row.
“They did lose a few games through the season but I was pretty confident they were going to be our competition. They’re strong and building momentum but we’ll just have to wait and see.”
Having finished fourth overall, the underdogs have timed their run to form perfectly.
But they admit they’ll need to produce something special to beat the Lions at National Park on Saturday.
“Yeah they’ve definitely been the dominant team all season.”
“We had quite a few injuries throughout the year and a few people away at different commitments and things like that and just couldn’t quite get our normal roll on.”
